Hi! I’m Gaozong

You may know me as Gaozong Yang—recently changed to Sohrabi after getting married!

I am UX and Service Designer blending 10+ years in optical healthcare with human-centered design thinking to buid tools and processes that support real behavior change.

From Optician to Experience Designer
My career began in the optical industry, where I helped patients find confidence in their vision and eyewear. Over time, I saw firsthand how confusing and impersonal healthcare interactions could be—so I transitioned into UX design to help fix that.

What Drives Me
I design with empathy, especially for users navigating health systems and high-stakes decisions. Whether I’m mapping service flows, leading virtual consultations, or creating internal tooling, I want to simplify complexity and empower users.

First-time mom
I gave birth to a beautiful and healthy boy in March 2025. Motherhood is demanding, humbling, and the purest act of love. It’s pushed me to build better boundaries, be more efficient in my work, and show up as the best version of myself.

Drawing it out
I’m exploring digital art through Procreate. Whether its doodling, practicing calligraphy, and playing with oil and watercolor brushes. It’s a space where I can be messy, curious, and creative just for me.

Frame-obsessed
I love talking about eyewear. Fit, color, shape, balance—I could go on forever. Whether it's styling patients or geeking out over new trends, frames are where function and fashion meet, and I’m here for all of it.
